Oh my dear Taylor, I have know this bride since she was about 3 years old. Her and my sister would play as we were growing up and I definitely gave the girls a tough time. Taylor has grown into one of the most beautiful and absolutely hilarious people I have ever met in my life. Her goofy sense of humor can make anyone laugh and she is one of those people you feel happy around. I am so happy she met her dream man, Patrick. He is a great man himself, but also brings out the best in her and she brings out the best in him. I am so happy for these two and hope they have the best life together. I asked Taylor a few questions about the day and this is what she said…
In your words, how did you and Patrick meet?
I was meeting some friends at Historian and they invited Patrick and one other friend. I had just left Lisa Chesson’s surprise birthday down the street (they were going to meet up shortly) so was a little splarty (her nickname) and a few drinks in. We were all joking around, ended up spending the whole day together, and having a blast on South Broadway. A week later we went on our first date and it was solidified from that day on.
How did Patrick propose?
I nervously took me, Marissa and Aaron out to a nice dinner at a restaurant on the 30th floor of a building overlooking downtown Portland. The ring was in Marissa’s purse, and he planned on me going to the bathroom at some point early on to grab it from her, which didn’t happen. After what must have been a lifetime for him (and an entree for the rest of us) he got down on one knee before dessert came and popped the question.
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
It was all so much fun, so I would have to say having all our favorite people in one room having fun with us, celebrating.
Where there any funny moments to be remembered forever about your day? Where there any mishaps?
The only memorable mishap was him not getting scared when I was trying to scare him for our first look (fail!). There were a lot of laughs, a lot of love and a lot of fun. Maddi getting under my dress for the pictures was pretty hilarious.
Do you have any advice for a future bride to be/or groom before their wedding?
Don’t take the wedding too seriously. Just enjoy the day and don’t sweat over the small details, nobody will remember them. If you go in with a calm attitude, it will make the wedding way much more fun and you can relax and enjoy the day you spent a lot of time planning and paid a lot of money for haha.
