Katrina and Alden got married on a hot August afternoon. Along with the heat, unfortunately, came Colorado wildfires. The smoke filled the city, the haze so bad, it looked like a dreary, heavy fog. City Park is know to have one of the best broad views of the Denver skyline. On this particular day, the skyline was only a faint outline. As the sun started to set, our view lit up in beautiful colors of pink and orange, like a hazy, African sky.
I loved the way Katrina and Alden looked at each other. You can tell they innately put each other at ease, bringing the other back down to earth with a sense of calm. They laughed their way through the day, every moment together, overflowing with joy.
Just when they thought their day couldn’t get any better, Katrina’s friends and family had a little surprise up their sleeve. Through a family connection, they were able to get Michael Franti (one of Katrina’s favorite musicians) to record a personal message for the bride and groom. He gave some words of advice and sang one of his favorite songs that he, himself wrote for his wife when they got married. Katrina’s reaction was priceless, truly a perfect ending to a perfect day.
You may not have Micheal Franti personally sing to you every day, but I know you two will find joy in the big moments and the simple, every day moments as you go through this life together.
Cheers to you Alden and Katrina.
Thanks to you, I feel like I am a little closer to my man, Michael Franti 🙂
