Ready for their Pines at Genesse Wedding up in the mountains, Ryan and Katie got married on a beautiful spring day. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing these two for their engagement photos and was excited to be back to capture this incredibly special day! These two have been together for a long time, and their relationship thrived through lots of travel, exploring breweries, a global pandemic and adding sweet fur babies to their family. This day was a long time coming, and they couldn’t have been more ready to officially start forever.
Katie and Ryan laced up their comfy Vans shoes and got ready for the big day. Surrounded by friends and family in the morning, the ladies got ready and then helped Katie put the finishing touches on her dress and jewelry before heading out for the first look. Ryan and his groomsmen also got ready, but much quicker as the guys usually do. Finally, it was time for a very special first look with his soon-to-be wife.
Ryan and Katie had a really cool first-look moment. They chose to walk backward into each other, and then stand back go back and read letters together before actually turning around and seeing each other. Their notes were sweet and heartfelt, as they shared their excitement for this next chapter in their lives together. Finally, they turned around and laid eyes on each other for the first time. Ryan had all the heart eyes for Katie when he finally saw her. She was such a beautiful bride! They were finally ready to go down the aisle and get the party started!
They had an outdoor ceremony at the Pines at Genesse on their Evergreen Wedding Terrace. Ryan and Katie each had 6 of their closest friends and family by their side as they stood and said their vows. After the ceremony, we headed out to a woodsy area to take bridal party photos and then couple photos with the bride and groom. This group was so much fun and even came up with a couple of funny poses!
The couple session after the wedding is always such a fun moment. It’s the bride and groom’s first chance to be alone, to hug, kiss, cuddle up and dance around as husband and wife. Sometimes that moment can be so surreal, and they are just giddy that the moment was finally there! I love giving them that time and leaning into their opportunity to have that moment together to soak it all in.
The reception was such a fun party! The Bride and Groom’s grand entrance was a blast and Ryan entered in a kilt to honor his heritage. Katie had a matching scarf that she wore that night as well, it was awesome to have that nod to their roots. They ate, drank, and danced the night away, celebrating such an incredible day and the beginning of their life together.
