Basia + Caleb’s Old Hollywood Wedding at The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado

When Basia and Caleb told us what they wanted, they used five words. 1940s Hollywood cantina, noir, romantic. That was the whole brief, and it was perfect. We took it and built the entire day around it, from the way we lit the library to the way the gallery was finished in warm sepia months later.
They married at The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado, with the Front Range sitting behind almost every frame. Here is their day, edited in the old Hollywood look they asked for.
Getting Ready at The Manor House in Littleton
The bridal suite gave us everything a vintage edit wants. Soft window light, a long veil, covered buttons, coupe glasses and an ornate mirror. Downstairs, the wood paneled library did the rest of the work. We put Caleb in that room with the shelves behind him and shot it like a film still.
A First Look With Her Mother
Basia and Caleb chose not to see each other before the ceremony, so the only first look of the day belonged to her mom. It is one of our favorite reasons to recommend a first look with a parent instead. Nobody is performing. The reaction is just the reaction.
An Outdoor Ceremony With the Front Range Behind Them
They married outside under a circular pampas grass arch, with the Colorado foothills stretching out behind the last row of chairs. A close friend officiated. Seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen stood with them.
Old Hollywood Portraits With a Vintage Car
The antique car parked in front of The Manor House is one of the best props any Colorado venue has, and for a 1920s and old Hollywood look it is almost unfair. We worked it from every angle, then moved out to the lawn and the front steps as the light dropped.
The Wedding Party
Caleb asked for one specific photo of the whole group, and the request was simple. Make us look like gangsters. So we lined everyone up wide against the hills and let the sepia do the rest.
Bagpipes Into the Reception
Basia is Scottish, and bagpipes led them into the reception. Inside, a vintage rotary telephone stood in for a guest book, a neon sign carried their new last name, and dessert was bundt cakes instead of tiers.
Dancing Into the Night
Their first dance was Blue Moon by Billie Holiday, which tells you everything about how deliberate this couple was. After the speeches the floor did not empty until the end, and we pulled them outside once more in the dark for a few last frames.
Why We Love Editing in Eras
We love editing in eras. A sepia wash, a 1920s feel, the grain and contrast of old film stock, that old Hollywood glow where the shadows go deep and the highlights go soft. It changes how a wedding reads ten years from now. A styled edit does not date the way a trendy preset does, because it was never trying to look like this year in the first place.
If there is a look you have been picturing for your own wedding, tell us and we will edit it for you. Vintage, sepia, old Hollywood, noir, warm film, moody black and white. We would genuinely love to build it with you.
And you do not give anything up to get it. Basia and Caleb received this entire sepia gallery and their full color gallery, so they have both versions of every frame.
Vintage Wedding Photography Questions We Get Asked
Can you edit our wedding photos in a vintage or sepia style?
Yes. Tell us the era or feeling you want and we will edit your gallery that way. Old Hollywood, 1920s, 1940s, sepia, film grain, moody black and white. We talk it through before the wedding so the lighting and the posing support the edit, not just the color grading afterward.
Do we lose our color photos if we choose a vintage edit?
No. Couples who choose a styled edit also receive the full color gallery. You end up with both.
What makes a wedding feel old Hollywood?
Warm tone, strong contrast, a little grain, and real details that carry the era. A vintage car, a classic black tuxedo, a long veil, deep window light, a wood paneled room. The venue matters here, which is part of why The Manor House works so well for it.
Where is The Manor House?
The Manor House sits in Littleton, Colorado, just southwest of Denver, with open foothill views in nearly every direction. We have photographed over 200 weddings there.
